Celebrating the 142nd Natal Jubilee of Kavi Shiromani Lekhnath Poudyal

On the auspicious occasion of the 142nd Natal Jubilee of Kavi Shiromani Lekhnath Poudyal, Durga Shaikshik Griha hosted a district-level poetry competition on December 30, 2024. The event aimed to honor the legendary poet’s literary legacy while encouraging young talent to explore the beauty of poetry.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various schools. The winners were as follows:
- Arnav Poudel (Smriti E.B. School) – First Place
- Pratikshya Bhimire (Lumbini World School) – Second Place
- Aditi Acharya (Everest E.B.S.) – Third Place
- Krishma Basyal (New Horizon) – Consolation
- Yogesh Joshi (Shree Durga Vaidik Sanskrit Biddha Peetha) – Consolation

About Kavi Shiromani Lekhnath Poudyal
Kavi Shiromani Lekhnath Poudyal (1885–1966) is celebrated as a pioneer of modern Nepali poetry. Known for his simple yet profound expressions, Poudyal’s works often reflect themes of morality, spirituality, and nature. His famous poems, such as “Buddhi Vinod,” “Tarun Tapasi,” and “Pinjada Ko Suga,” continue to inspire readers with their philosophical depth and lyrical beauty. He is regarded as a bridge between classical Sanskrit tradition and modern Nepali literature, earning him the title “Kavi Shiromani” or “Crown Jewel of Poets.”
